The Kammavari
Sangham, a voluntary service organisation first of its kind of our community
was established in the year 1952, with the ideals of serving the mankind.
Since
its establishment, for more than four decades, the Sangham has diversified
its activities to many folds. The Sangham provides scholarships and
free Hostel facilities to the poor and meritorious students of Kamma
community, keeping in view the development and welfare of the community;
the Sangham has started choultries and conducting mass marriages.The
Sangham also started Kammavari Credit Co-operative society to mobilize
deposits, to lend loans for productive purpose, encourage small entrepreneurs
and social cause.
Pursuing
national goals like globalisation, privatisation and needs for technical
manpower, the Sangham ventured into the field of Technical Education.
We made humble beginning with the starting of K.S.Polytechnic in 1992.
This institute achieved overwhelming success, securing several State
level ranks in a very short span of time.
The year 1999 will go as yet another landmark in the History of Sangham.
Under the able and dynamic leadership of Sri.P.V.Kuppaswamy Naidu, Convenor,
High power Committee. Sri.K.Krishna. the President. Sri K. Subramanyam
Naidu, the Secretary and enthusiastic committee members of the Kammavari
Sangham, could make the dream of starting an Engineering college, a
reality. It is the timely advice, guidance and wholehearted effort of
Prof.M.R.Doreswamy who has been responsible for establishing many Educational
Institutions of academic excellence (PES), the Sangham is able to get
the sanction of the Engineering College from the Govt. Of India.
To
provide better health care to the poor and needy, we are in the process
of setting up a 50 bed Modern Hospital by August, 2000. This has come
at the right time when the entire world is stepping in to the next millennium
and looking forward to better health care of the mankind.
ABOUT
THE INSTITUTE
Born
on 11th October, 1999 KSIT offers B.E. programme in following three
disciplines:-

& Communication Engineering
- Mechanical

Campus
KSIT campus is situated in Raghuvanahalli on Kanakapura Road about 14
Kms from Bangalore Town Hall. The Institute is aiming at duality education
by providing excellent infrastructure facility, library and laboratories.
In the short span of time the college has established its academic standards.

The Institute is well equipped with the laboratory and library facilities
with qualified and experienced faculty members for the 1st year. Setting-up
of laboratories, library. procurement of equipments and books and recruitment
of experienced and qualified staff for the 2nd year is in progress.
Institution has plans to develop a sports and hostel complex at Mallasandra
about 1.5Kms from the college campus. Hostel complex providing accommodation
for about 400 boys and 200 girls and sports complex providing indoor
stadium for shuttle badminton, table tennis and Gym. Also 400 Meter
track for conducting field, track events and cricket/hockey ground.
Institute intends to develop strong training and placement cell for
co-ordinating the institute-industry interaction. Also continuing education
department for carrying our orientation programmes and personality development
programmes to impart exposures to alround developments.
ADMISSION
CRITERIA.
Students
are admitted to the 1st year B.E. programme in different branches of
engineering through CET Cell. In keeping with the policy of the Govt
of Karnataka, 50% of the seats are treated as free seats and remaining
50% as payment seats, out of which 5% of seats are reserved for the
NRIs.
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENT
- Student
must have secured minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics in II PUC or equivalent examination. A relaxation
of 15% marks is given to candidates belonging to SC/ST and Group 1
categories.
- Students
who have passed qualifying examinations from other Boards and Universities
are required to obtain an eligibility certificate from the VTU before
being admitted to the college.
- Students
who have passed Diploma with a minimum of 50% of marks can seek admission
to Engineering courses of the related disciplines adhering to the
rules of Dept of Technical Education, Karnataka. Eligibility Certificate
from the VTU and DTE is a must for the diploma students from the other
states. No exemption on any subjects will be provided to such candidates.
- Admissions
are subject to approval by the Govt bodies like the DTE and CET cell
and VTU. Students admitted under reservation category are required
to submit the validity certificate from the concerned authority at
the time of admission.
Facilities
Hostel
complex provides accommodation for about 400 boys and 200 girls.

At
present institute has hostel facility for accommodating 40 boys and
10 girls in Bangalore City. Students commute by the college bus. For
the next year we have plans to extend the facility to 80 boys and 20
girls.

In
order to facilitate students coming from various parts of the City,
the college management has introduced its own transportation system.
Presently two buses are running in different routes to help the students
and staff to reach the college without much hardship. The management
is planning to introduce two more buses from the next academic year
to help students coming from remote places in Bangalore. Transportation
charges are minimum on the basis of the no loss no profit.
